After setting up her workspace, Isla quickly began to play with different tools to mark her wax.

After some experimentation, Isla decided on her design and set out to make it.

Isla said her creation was a hot dog on a stick. We engraved her name and the date on the reverse as an additional customization.

Meet Kid Jeweler Zachary! He’s 13 years old in this photograph.

Zachary began by designing the piece he wanted to make on paper and then figuring out how to actualize his design with wax. We were impressed!

After his design was complete, Zachary kneaded his wax to warm it and then folded it into a long rectangle.

Zachary then used the log rolling technique on his rectangle until he formed an even, elongated, wax ‘snake'.

Zachary cut up and assembled pieces of his ‘snake’ to form this Z. His sister’s name also starts with a Z so the initial is very meaningful in his family.

This is Zachary’s Z just before casting. We added the blue wax element at the top to function as the link that connects the Z to it’s bale. A bale is the piece that a pendant hangs from.

Zachary’s Z was high polished finished on a polished bead chain.

Before he began, Hugo wasn’t exactly sure of what he was going to make but he was eager to get a feel for the material.

Within only a few minutes of playing with the wax, Hugo realized the design he wanted to make and set to actualizing it.

Every mark on Hugo’s masterwork had a symbolic meaning. He checked every detail to make sure it was just right before packing it up to return to Kid Jeweler HQ.

Although Stella watched Hugo make his masterwork, she wasn’t sure what her finished piece would look like in gold in its reduced size. It was love at first sight.

Every detail in Hugo’s carefully crafted masterwork was captured in the final piece just at a reduced size.

Hugo and his mom were delighted at the result. “I LOVE my necklace!” Stella wrote us.

The simplicity, clarity and symmetry of Hugo’s piece makes it wonderfully potent at its Mini Pendant size: you can read its design from across the room. Bravo Hugo!

With her godparents as co-conspirators, Kid Jeweler Elyse (age 7) made her masterwork in secret while her Mom was out of the house. As soon as Mom was gone, they set up a workspace on their kitchen table and Elyse got to making.

Elyse’s creation is modeled after her love-worn stuffed bunny, shown here.

Elyse made her wax masterwork with only her fingers and a toothpick as tools… and a whole lot of love!

That Elyse’s Mom was wonderfully surprised to receive her daughter’s special gift is an understatement! Elyse received a surprise, too: a silver Mini of her own to proudly wear with her Mom.
